Michele Russell is the mother of my friend Cassandra "Cassie" Russell. She was an inspiration to my completion of my bachelor's degree in 2012. Michele worked as an Emergency Room Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington.

When I met Cassandra Russell, she was 35 years old. Cassandra was completing her final year at Pacific Lutheran University. She completed her bachelor's degree as a Communications major. I was Cassandra's first black friend. She was originally from Oregon

My strongest memory is the support I received from her mother. She shared the story of her sexual assault in Mexico. Definitely believe we are both against supporting sexual assault.
